Razz Poker Rules

RAZZ poker is a derivative of Seven Card Stud, here we will discuss the rules of razz poker. The primary difference is that the person who has the worst or lowest hand, wins the game. This is different from Seven Card Stud poker because in this game, the person with the highest hand wins. One of the worst hands in RAZZ poker is a 2345. This is because flushes and straights do not count against a low hand and aces are also viewed as low. The wheel or the bike, which is an Ace to five straight, is the lowest possible and the best one to have.

There is no eight or better rule in RAZZ. When you’re playing hi/lo, eight or better, the person who has the best low hand cannot have a card that is higher then eight, otherwise it will not be considered a low hand. However, in RAZZ, any combination can win even if it has pairs. However, in most cases, the hand that wins in RAZZ does not have a pair.

Razz Poker Variations

Many of the poker variations have some things in common. There are only slight differences. This helps when an individual is trying to learn the different rules of the various games. If they can learn and understand the general rules of poker then they can quickly pick up the other games.

Because online poker rooms offer lots of poker variations, players get an opportunity to learn and play other types of poker. Many online poker sites will allow individuals to play for free with new member bonus money. New players should take advantage of these bonus monies to learn poker games that they are not familiar with.

Many people have either not heard of RAZZ or have never played it. However, many people have played Seven Card Stud poker. If they are familiar with this type of poker, then they should have little problem understanding RAZZ. The biggest difference is that the player that has the lowest or worst hand wins. This means that instead of playing to end up with the highest, players will need to strategize so that they end up with the lowest hand possible.

Individuals that are used to playing Seven Card Stud might want to practice a while before they begin betting for money. This is because, they will have a natural tendency to want to play the game so that they end up with the highest hand. This may cause problems when a person is just beginning to learn to play. This is similar to a person overseas who must learn to drive on the opposite of the street when they are in another country. It is generally very difficult to get used to. It takes time and practice to before it becomes habit. This holds true for individuals that begin to play RAZZ after they have played Seven Card Stud for a period of time. A careful study of the rules and spending time in online poker rules will help persons that are interested in playing RAZZ become successful.
